How do i get work experience in the media industry?

Im 17 doing my first year of A levels and I study media, eng lit, art and photog. Im looking for work experience, as much as i can get, to add to my c.v and uni application. I really need the experience and the necessary contacts however im struggling. What ways could I get some W/e? I want to study film and be a music video director. my teacher suggested getting involved with The Journal and review some films but how would i get involved and do that? thankyou!
