I want to find a friend who moved address..... how can i do it.

I really want to find my old friend but have no idea where to start?

  • Hi well me and my friend lost contact when he moved schools a few years back and I really want to get in contact with him again. Thing is I only his first and last name and round about where he lives e.g Selsdon (Not where he lives btw but only place I could think of for example) And he's only either 11 or 12 I cant remember when his birthday is. I've already gone onto a lot of sites but none are giving me promising results. A phone number, address, email anything like that would be good but I can't find anything like that on any of these sites. Any ideas what sites I could look on or any other way to contact him? ( It needs to be free as my parents wont let me spend out on it and I've already asked friends if they have any contact details for him and its a no ) Thank you x

  • Answer:

Actually, start looking in phone books (or on the Internet). Start looking under last names, then narrow it down by district or city. So, for instance, if his last name is Jones and you find 15 of them and only 10 of them live in the area where you think he lives, then cross all but those 10 left. Do you know the name of his father or mother? Use that in your search too. After that, provided the calls are local, start calling people. You can say something like, Hi this is Suzy, is Bobby there? If he's not there, they'll let you know. Just say thank you, I must have the wrong number. Then go to the next number. What you should NOT do. NEVER give a stranger over the phone your full name. NEVER give a stranger your phone number. NEVER give a stranger your address. No matter how nice someone is on the phone, NEVER give your personal information. NEVER give your parents names. NEVER give your school name. NEVER give your age. If anyone asks you any questions, give the phone to your parents to answer questions. Remember that someone on a phone can tell you anything and it can be a lie. Remember: Your objective is to GET information, NOT GIVE information.
