What happens to your body when you don't eat?

What happens to your body weight if you eat less calories than what your body naturally burns?

  • I've been doing this, but not on purpose. I've been snacking on random healthy things throughout the day. When I did this equation: 88.362 + (4.799 x your height in centimeters) + (13.397 x your weight in kilograms) - (5.677 X your age), I found out that my body naturally burns 1469 calories day. I know I haven't eaten those many calories daily for the past 2 weeks or so, but I feel fine.

  • Answer:

Obviously you'll start losing weight to begin with, but you should really eat more than your body naturally burns a day because you should do excersize as well which requires more calories. If you keep eating less than your body needs your body will eventually run out of fat stores to feed of when there is not enough energy received from food, then it will start using your muscles for energy: muscular dystrophy. You need to excersize to be healthy, and you need to eat more than your basal metabolic rate (daily average without excersize) in order to do that. Simple as that!
