What can I do with an associates degree in accounting?

  • I graduated from community college this year and right now I'm in my first semester going for a bachelor's. The thing is I hate school I can't focus, I can't sleep on nights before class, I get anxiety attacks before exams, it's just a place that is counter-productive to my well being. I have some kind of degree though but can I do anything sustainable with it?

    You may be able to get a bookkeeping job. An AA degree does not have much value other than as preparation for BA or BS. You are better off finishing your education.

My mother has an associates degree in accounting. She has a job as the book keeper for the town office. It pays about $11.50/hr, about 30 hours a week. Before that, she was working in retail. I'm not saying you're stuck with crap jobs if you stop with the associates, but you are severely limiting yourself. You are not as likely to get employment in your field without a bachelors.
