Does recharging batteries take longer the first time?
-
I've had a Duracell recharger with 2 AA 1700mAh batteries going for about 11 hours so far today and the automatic cutoff still hasn't kicked in yet, according to the instructions it should've happened after 6 hours. So does it take usually longer to charge a battery the first time or have I bought myself a duffer? Cheers

Answer:
If the cells are new and were sold uncharged, they will take longer the first time. 16 to 20 hours is normal.
