Returning an Item to Store w/o Receipt?

I left the receipt in a bag on my floor and for some reason the receipt vanished ..bags still there Hah! Anyway ..I want to return a pair of jeans that don't fit me well that I purchased with a credit card but charged as debit I'm not even sure if this is possible but if I were to get a list showing purchases made on my credit card would I be able to return the jeans that way? Thanks

Some stores will be helpful, others will not. You need 'proof of purchase' to be certain. If you could show the payment on your CC staement that would be useful. Are the jeans exclusive to that store/chain? At least you will find out what sort of store they are and whether you will continue to shop there!
