I'm a senior girl and I would like to try out for football next year what should I do now to prepair?

I highly encourage you to join your high school football team next season. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a girl playing high school football, even on an all-boys team. Based on your ability to run, as well as the fact that you do not mind contact, I believe that the best fit for you is at running back. What you need to do this offseason is eat healthy, and exercise by doing a lot of running every day. If you do these two things, you will get faster, stronger, and into better shape, which will greatly improve your chances of being successful in high school football next season, as well as getting recruited to play for a college football program.

First thing you can do is start running. Every position has to run, and it can be easy to get tired. run at every speed, from a slow jog to a sprint. Do simple agility drills also, like grapevines and shuffling and stuff like that. Include some conditioning with these. I recommend killers. Also, just get used to touching a football. Play a lot of catch. Another thing that you can do is increase your jump height. Shooting jumpshots and layups will help. Lift some weights, and focus on core stuff. Also, find some plyometric exercises and do those. But like I said, running will help more than anything.

Right now most females in football are kickers. There aren't many but are some on practice sqauds and such at the college level.
