    I don't know each and every answer but i will try to give answer as per my knowledge. The α- cells of Islets of Langerhans release the hormone 'Glucagon' which is responsible for the process called GLYCOGENOLYSIS. It converts the stored Glycogen in the liver to glucose when the blood glucose level falls. The β-cells of Islets of Langerhans release the hormone 'Insulin' which is responsible for the process called GLYCOGENESIS. It converts the excess glucose in the body into stored food (glycogen). Glycogen is synthesised and further stored in the Liver.
