Girls, Do you break out before your period or clear up?

  • Skip this paragraph below if you don't care for the details. Okay, so I'm 18 years old I have had this acne problem since I was 12. I have improved it greatly with progesterone cream but I am not sure if I got it quite right... See the reason why I believed it would work for me is because Mid cycle I would be the most clear. Than a couple days before my period I would break out like CRAZY! than somewhat throughout my period, and a bit more afterwards but not as bad, then it clears again. This time though (first time I had my period since using cream) my skin acted as normal (broke out before period) but cleared DURING my period and now about 4 days after I have experienced a minor breakout on my back. This is frustrating because I finally got completely clear from my regimen and a bit of tanning while I was at the beach, After two days of happiness and being able to wear strapless dresses and tank tops, I am suffering again. I think its because I am not applying enough on as before my period I applied 3 times a day. here's a chart I found maybe to better the understanding. (since sometimes acne is from a hormonal imbalance) http://www.progesteronetherapy.com/image-files/graph.jpg :( I just want to do a little survey to see if maybe I've got this right. so answer these questions? If you break out before and during your period: 1. How soon before your period do you break out? 2. Do you break out worse a couple days before, during, or toward the end of your period? 3. Have you noticed that your more clear about 1-2 weeks after or before your period? (mid cycle) 4. What is your age? For those of you that find you clear up before your period: 1. Do you start to clear up a couple of days before your period? 2. When during your period do you find yourself the most clear? Before, during, or after? 3. Do you notice that you break out more about 1-2 weeks after your period? (mid-cycle) 4. What is your age? Sorry if this is in the wrong section, just trying to get a wide range of women.

  • Answer:

Apparently I heard that theoretically different parts of your face are "connected" to different parts of your body! And around your chin is usually to represent hormone change! So a week or so before or after your period the change in hormones naturally causes a break out but it might ease over time :D 1. A week before 2. During my period I have it worse 3. Yeah! Definitely clear mid-cycle 4. 18

I personally do both. Sometimes I'll clear up, other times I break out a little, or break out like crazy. Soo I'm going to answer for both!(: If you break out before and during your period: 1. How soon before your period do you break out?: A day or two before my period. 2. Do you break out worse a couple days before, during, or toward the end of your period? Normally during. 3. Have you noticed that your more clear about 1-2 weeks after or before your period? (mid cycle) After my period is when my skin clears up a lot! 4. What is your age? I'm 17. For those of you that find you clear up before your period: 1. Do you start to clear up a couple of days before your period?: Normally a week before my period. 2. When during your period do you find yourself the most clear? Before, during, or after? Before. 3. Do you notice that you break out more about 1-2 weeks after your period? (mid-cycle) Nope! 4.
