What is considered a missed period?

• So last month, I had sex about 3 days before i was to start my period. The next all i did was spot light brown blood. I didn't have to use any tampons at all the whole week. I don't have irregular periods, my last period in febuary was normal, and I'm not on any birth control that could irregulate my period. I don't have any stress and my eating habits have been the same. Should I count the brown spotting as a period or a missed period?

  Well, it could really be either... If it is way different from what you normally get, then I would consider it a missed period. But if you have this happen on occasion, then maybe it was just a normal period for you. I would personally take a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side to rule it out since you say that you did have sex just before you were supposed to get your period. If it's fine, wait and see if your next one is similar to what you normally get, and if it's different, then I would go to the doctor just to get checked out.
