Is this too much vitamin A?
-
Hi, I first thought that buying vitamin D mixed with A was a good idea, seemed cheaper for the duo... But now that I look at the dose... Vitamin D = 800 IU (20mcg) which is normal and a bit lower than my old 10 000. But... compared to it... Vitamin A 10,000 IU (3000 mcg RAE) I actually live for greens and cheese... so I'm guessing that I get loads of vitamin A (I searched what it is after...) I do have peeling itchy skin, but while vitamin A can help acne and scalp, too much of it causes the problem... along with accumulating in the liver, and eating a polar bear's liver can kill you of an overdose... so this **** is serious... Maybe it's for pregnant women who eat nothing but pickled pizza or some horrors... Should I buy another vitamin D only? Am I going to overdose for sure since I eat almost only greens and cheese? Could it help my acne and scalp or am I most likely having those from an overdose already... They say the max is that dose... am I not screwed? "Well, if it was dangerous they wouldn't do that" HA! Don't make me laugh... They allow toxic heavy metals and arsenic in make up saying it's under the maximum dose... as if there is an acceptable dose for poison... What do I do... I should probably trust my instinct but I trashed a vitamin D already because it has saccarose (well, shitty sugar) and corn starch... Damnit... It,s to absorb my calcium supplement... mixed with magnesium... and they cancel each other... will I absorb some if I don't take D with calcium? It must be no if they bother putting it in milk... they should do a calcium + D that would be less stupid... Why is everyone's IQ so low!!! They know... they do it on purpose to make money by cancelling vitamins or making them incomplete to make you buy more... So... is 10000 A with a diet rich in greens and cheese going to overdose me? Any ideas about my crusty ichy area on my scalp? I gave up soap and shampoo for sodium bicarbonate, never felt so soft~~~

Answer:
The best thing to do is to get a professional opinion from your Pharmacist. They will let you know what the proper daily requirement is for each vitamin. Normally, if you consume more than the body requires, it is just flushed out of the body, so do not take more than what is required by the body each day or you are just flushing your money down the toilet for taking too much. Take care.

Wow. Calcium and Magnesium don't cancel each other out...your intestines and kidneys have a rate limiting effect because you would die other wise. Yeah, it's too much vitamin A. I would guess you have a medical condition OTHER than vitamin A deficiency. I can think of a half dozen. Vitamins won't treat any of them.
