Text message ettiquette????

When you send a text message and someone doesnt get back to you, after a day or so..is it acceptable to ask them when you next hear from them if they got yr last message? Espeically if they ignore it.. I know ppl are all busy!! and it might take a day to respond but.. its rude not to respond at all, and ingore the message isnt it? so can you mentoin that you sent a message or is that rude or even controlling? I sent my sister who lives interstate, a message last week, 7 days ago and she hasnt reponded, she sent me a quick happy easter message today but didnt repsond or mention my other message. yes she, like most of us, is busy but it doesnt hurt to at least acknowledge the message that a person sent? what do yu think? genine replies please! thanks

Answer:
i would ask sister or a close friend , but i would leave other people alone. if u start interrogating other people why they didnĀ“t answer your message soon u will have no other people to send messages too. but sister is another quetsion - i would call my sister and tel her "why the heck u ignored my message? I am hurt"and she will have to apologize

I would say it is kinda rude to not text back but she probably didnt mean to hurt you (like you said, people are busy). It's fine to ask her if she got your text. This has happened many times with my own sister and I say, 'did you get my text? you didn't text back.' Then she will say something like, 'oh yeah I did, sorry... I was busy'. I have not texted people back, just cause well I dont know, it just didnt seem like I had to respond. But if they ask me if I did get it, its fine.

Hmmm.. well if she texted you but didnt reply to that certin message I think you should resend the message you originally sent. And if she still doesnt reply then ask her if she got your message.
