Can voice lessons make anyone a good singer?

Whats wrong with my voice?

  • Hello can anyone please help me with this.Im a female and my voice is quite low and feels only half of it sounds out. When i sing it cracks straight away and it wont let the rest of my sound out and i dont know why :( Im not a good singer at all but thats because of this problem and i dont knowhowto solve it. So basically im just asking how i can make my voice sound out fully when im singing (withought lessons) and how can i have a higher tone pitch when im just speaking as i sound sad/angry all the time with my low voice. Thank You

  • Answer:

U probably have what is termed "Contralto" voice range. You need to choose prices that 'suit your voice'. That's what ALL singers do. If you need to further control your pitch, u will simply have to practice musical scales. Soon, u will b able to easily identify things like keys and more suitable songs for yourself. Plus, your range will increase a little bit!

I'm sorry to say this, but if anyone tells you that you can fix this without singing lessons then they are lying! You need to learn the techniques that help to build a strong voice, as it sounds like you're largely unsupported, (but that's very difficult to tell without first hearing you sing). Your confidence in your ability will also play a part in your actual ability as our emotions are linked to our voices, if you're scared, you'll naturally tense up which means that you won't get the good stuff out of your voice. If you really want to sing, then my advice would be, get the proper training. The low voice has nothing to do with it, Karen Carpenter had a low (Alto) voice, and she was wonderful!

Please, do not hate me for my honesty. I am writing because I want help. You speak/sing in a tension. It is a habitual thing so, you may feel it is your normal voice as you are used to it. You did not mention your age. You have builded this through yor life the same way you learn anything else. There is way, it is actually my everyday work. You need to re-educate yourself. The first step must be to realize what is the correct one, and what is the bad one you want to loose. Than you need to concentrate like hell every single moment you practice to do the correct one, otherwise you memorize the bad one back. You may need help with it on some stage. The worse may be for you I guess to find the relaxed natural way of singing/speech you suppose to have without the bad habits - the correct way. Not because you would not be able to do it - you are able to loose this tension for a moment if you concentrate. But your brain will always offering you the bad one like the snake devil offered the apple. And the more you practice the more you getting tired so unable to do it correct :O( It is very hard to write like that. Please do not hesitate to write if you are interested. I cannot teach you unless I have you in a room with me. But I am happy to answer your questions. Good luck.
