How can you record vocals over an instrumental?

Can I Record my vocals in (MIXCRAFT 5) and then save them as an Mp3...then Go edit the vocals in FL studio?

    In Mixcraft, click on the File menu and select "Mix Down to...," then choose MP3 if you are worried about file size or WAV if you are worried about quality. WAV files can be 10 times larger than MP3 files, but they are uncompressed so they have better quality.

You would have a much better sound quality saving your recordings as a wav document. Plus, most mixing devices respond to wav files. When you are done mixing, you may finalize it as an mp3.
