What does a civil engineer do?

What is it like to be a civil engineer?is it true that all civil engineers are rich and fulfilled?

  • i am just wondering..this past years i have been thinking if i have made the right decision to be an accountant..i'm 4th year now..though when i have taken an iq test i got the lowest scores in math and spatial thinking which are both required in an engineering course but the good thing is i got an almost perfect scores on reading comprehension and verbal abilities..but that was before and i believe now that i have improved on those two lowest scores..or am i just having delusions because this thinking just started when i have known that our class valedictorian had taken civil engineering and i also wanted to be great..and now i am thinking that civil engineering is the right course for me and that maybe i could have a better life with it maybe i could be rich and fulfilled just like other civil engineers there if they are..should i be remorseful?

Like you, I am great in reading and writing, but get horrible grades in math and chemistry and physics. Yet I was able to graduate with a B.S. in engineering and get a job. I graduated last May 2011 from one of the top engineering schools in the U.S. You will need to study as hard as you can to get a C (70%). Just to let you know what it takes to get an engineering degree. I did not go out any weekends. I never went to a club or to party. My friends in engineering invited me to go out or to play video games, but I always stayed home or on campus to study. My friends are still going to school in their 5th year in engineering because they did not focus on school as much as I did. They have to pay an extra year of tuition and retake some classes they failed to graduate.
