Ebay Question about selling gaming cards?

I am new to selling on ebay & i'm currently selling an Xbox live subscription where i will deliver the code via email & my question is when do i email them the game code? once they pay for it & that blue dollar sign lights up? & do i have to pay for shipping lables for electronic delivery? If someone could walk me through the process I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
