I have multiple consoles (2 Xbox 360 2 PS3 and a Wii) what speed of internet would I need to run 2 consoles?
-
I plan on using no more that two of those consoles online at the same time. I live with my GF and got the consoles cuz we have people crash all the time at our place. And we used to just systemlink 4v4. But now we want to have them both online then join a party like halo big team battle or homefront. Is that possible? We use a projector and my 92in flat screen I was going to get the 150 offered from comcast but is that too excessive and 200 a month too expensive I want to go as cheap as possible but with no lag and what router would be good to support both systems via wifi?

Answer:
With an 25Mbps connection I can run 2 computers, a Xbox, a Wii, a Roku, and an internet phone all running at the same time without an issue. 150 is some serious overkill if you ask me. Think of it like this. Suppose you just wanted to run one thing with a cable speed of 5Mbps - 6Mbps would you have a problem? Of course not, so as long as each device has 5 - 6Mbps dedicated to it, by splitting up the overall bandwidth, there will not be a problem. It will be like each one has its own 5Mbps comcast account. With only 2 it would be like each one has its own 12Mbps account which is WAY more then enough. For a router, I just installed the Rosewill on my sisters comcast modem with voice. She is 18Mbps and running a PC, Phone, Wii, Roku, Xbox and PS2 all at the same time without a problem. Under $20 delivered to your front door with a 1 year free extended warranty. As far as over all satisfaction I can really not answer that yet as she has had it less then a week. It was a breeze to hookup tho. Just turned everything off, stuck a toothpick into the cable modem to reset it. Turned everything on and it was online with no setup of any kind. It took about 5 mins. to connect all the other devices up via wifi. Very good speeds and set up could not have been any easier. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166072
