-
I am a stay at home mom, and am dying to go back to work, but I have 2 non-school aged kids, and with the cost of daycare and gas these days, Id more than likely have to pay to go to work. Anyone out there know of any legit work from home companies? That dont have some start up fee! And Im not talking about assembling objects or envelope stuffing. I am not opposed to actually working hard for my money =o)

Answer:
Most jobs in the category you are looking at are going to steal your time and give you nothing. I've been there, I have 3 kids, I was paying almost all my check to the day care! So I was searching high and low for something that doesn't exist. I once spend over 30 hours in a week doing surveys, data entry and clicking links and you know what I made....$0! I wasted an entire week! Wow, I felt stupid! I run my own home business, it's simple...I introduce products to people that help them look younger, make them feel better and help them live longer. Don't you know a ton of people that want to look younger, thinner and be healthier? And...I barely ever leave my house, unless I am going on vacation, shopping or to the post office-and I even pick up customers there! I don't badger people about ordering things from me...I don't have to and I don't want to, people seek me out! I don't carry an inventory of products either! I make a 5 figure monthly income. It cost me next to nothing to get into the company...it's even less now than I paid 8 months ago and it has made my life pretty good, more than I ever expected! So in summary, stop wasting your time looking for jobs that don't exist. Find something that you can see yourself doing and then, if you have to, save a little money to get into it. Message me if you want info on what I do and I can help you start without paying any money...because I can help you, I enjoy helping others that are in the same situation I was once it, it's good karma! If you are really motivated to find something that really makes you money, get a hold of me!

Envelop stuffing is a classic scam that predates the internet, a lot of home assembly offers are fakes as well. I would only consider doing assembly for a local company you meet face to face, I suspect most of that work is done by employees taking home overtime work. Be aware there are more fake work at home offers than authentic ones. http://abcnews.go.com/Business/Economy/Story?id=7014111&page=1#.Tyo3wCNPz4g You can be paid to write fairly basic articles for web sites or for being a virtual assistant, sort of a secretary, while more of the people doing this are in the 3rd world with a low cost of living, some VAs in the U.S. are hired as well to do customer support over the phone, so research, etc. You can find freelance work at marketplaces like odesk.com, freelancer.com these seem to be relatively scam free, you would be competing with a world wide worker pool, while firstly for technicians, there are writing projects regularly coming up, a native English speaker has a big edge in this work, the going rate for basic filler articles may be $5 for 450 words, the most elite sites expect to pay up to $75 for expert authors. There is no cost to workers at the 10 or so freelance sites used by web business operators, the Anything Goes section of Freelancer shows how non technical some of the short term jobs can get. You are ultimately dealing with individual small 'employers' so the experiences can vary. Odesk has a variety of skills tests you could use to learn where you fit in and add to your online resume. There are micro task sites, the original was created by Amazon.com to 'automate' tasks a computer couldn't do, like picking the better of 2 pictures, they named mturk.com after the 18th century Mechanical Turk chess playing machine that had a man hidden inside, shortTask and microworkers have similar micro tasks Some of these tasks are a bit shady, but you can only do the ones you choose to.
