Can anyone recommend a great place to stay in Kuta, Bali - walking distance to the main shopping mall/area?
-
I've been to Bali three times now but have always avoided Kuta because of the hustle and bustle. I'm heading over there in June this year and will be spending time at Binging Beach, Gilli Air and Ubud. However I want to spend 2 days in Kuta to get some serious shopping done. I'd really like to stay somewhere that's modern, clean and MUST be walking distance to the shops as this is the only reason we'll be making this stop over. Shopping places I'd like to get to include Discover Mall and Kuta Square. I'm looking at spending no more than $100 per night. Any suggestions or tips would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Answer:
Kedins number 1 or two. Poppies lane 1 about a block from the beach and seriously cheap $10 to $15 a night within the immediate are of the major shopping block and in the middle of everything. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g297697-d1748921-Reviews-Kedin_s_II-Kuta_Bali.html There are lots of hotels in the area and the Hard Rock is just around the corner. There are so many good places to stay right there that I suggest that you just book for the one night. You will find something better the next day. I have been traveling budget for so long I just can't even imagine spending $100 for a night. the pool at Kedins is great and it really is the GREAT location. Email me and I will send along the Bali Cheat sheet. its free and has no paid advertising. Just cool places I have found in 30 years of trips to Bali [email protected] good luck Or, if you insist on spending money. Just down the street is Kuta Puri Bungalows. at about $100 a night its very cool http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g297697-d629607-Reviews-Kuta_Puri_Bungalows-Kuta_Bali.html Same basic location

Eazy suites: cheap and clean, 30 mins walking distance to the beach, around $50 per night http://www.eazysuites.com/index.html Harris resort hotel Tune Hotels: cheap, charge another $10 for aircon, quite noisy as it located near Discovery mall.

Just Google Kuta using Asia rooms or hotels .com there are heaps and heaps of hotels, near shops that offer all sorts of bargains online. There are photos and comments if you use Tripadvisor It is better you choose for yourself than take someone's recommendation and find you don't like it

If you can add more to your budget, you could choose Villa Lava. It's a wlaking distance to most restaurants and shops in Kuta or Seminyak Area.
