How to get rid of upper back pain?

  • Im 19 years old and female. Ive had really intense pain in my upper back for maybe 2 years now and it seems like lately it has been getting way worse. It hurts from the morning until i go to bed. Nothing really helps it at all besides maybe pain relievers but they only last a few hours if even that. I really dont want to get any prescriptions for it because i hate being on drugs, and im in college far away from home so i cant see my doctor :( HELP

Back pains are caused by pinched back muscles and until they are freed up you will continue to be in pain. A brace will only keep you in a more upright position, the worst position there is for pinched muscles. If you could bend over some it would open up your spine to take some pressure off the muscles to get some relief so being directly upright is putting as much pain into your back as is going to be possible. Wrong thing to do. To get rid of your back pain you have to free up your back muscles which there are two ways of doing but only one that you can do yourself and here that one is: Back: (do from a sitting position) Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side. For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
