Has anyone experienced applying to recruitment companies who will place you in the film industry?

For anyone in the film industry, live in new york, i want to break into the film industry as a writer/producer?

  • Do you think its a good idea to intern at a production company... to get my foot in the door, meet people even though i want to be a writer or do you think production companies are only looking for people that want to do editing, directing ect.or do they take screenwriters either? I know alot of writers are freelance. If anybody in the industry, particularly in new york could give me some advice i would really appreciate it. I know when you intern or volunteer your basically start at the bottom and can do alot of things not even related to film.

    Nope not a writer nor producer but just wanted to make sure you know what your getting into. Search youtube for "rocky story tony robbins". What your are getting into is a great industry, you will need a lot of perseverance.
