What is english language/ english literature?

Our end of year9 exam time table says that we will have 2 english exams: english literature english language I just wanted to know what to expect because our teacher hasn't actually told us what will be in the tests as i'm unsure what topics will be in what test thanks to everyone in advance!!! :)

Our English lit paper was on the books and poetry that we'd read over the year. For us, it was lord of the flies Our English lang paper was on the different styles of writing :) for example, to explain/persuade/inform :)

From what I can gather from the two, I think you teacher is going to be testing you on the grammatical aspects of English language which would be like sentence structure and the proper use of commas, periods, colons, etc. By English Literature I'm sure she means questions on the stories aka literature you've read this semester or the entire year.
