My knee feels very swollen could there be a fluid in it?

Really hurt my knee and need some help on what to do, PLEASE HELP?

  • Basically about 3 weeks ago, I was roller-blading in the dark (stupid thing to do I know) and I have a huge hill for a drive, and in order to not kill myself by flying down this hill i thought I'd go slowly into the front of my step dads car and just use my hands to stop myself, but instead I hit the front and landed onto my knee cap on a rocky drive. I experienced intense and deep joint pain, and burning pain from the trauma to the skin which was cut and bleeding despite being in jeans. I tried to just breathe and get the blades off and not move my leg because I thought I had broken my knee. So I went down to my house, and got my brother to help me clean up my knee, which was now swollen and red and the skin on the top of the kneecap was numb, and the skin on my thigh above my kneecap was very sore to touch although there was no damage. I iced and levitated my leg and tried to sleep through the pain. I couldn't really bend it the next day but just dealt with it. Then the movement got better, but it was still painful to walk up and down stairs, and I couldn't kneel down and definitely could not kneel on the affected knee. Now 3 weeks later, The swelling has gone down apart from the top right hand corner which has a small "pouch" of fluid over it, (the patella) there is deformation - my knee cap comes to a small cone (not pointy obviously) in the top right hand corner, I can also feel a dent and a small hard, what feels like, a piece of bone that is loose and you can move. The skin is still numb and if I sit down for longer than 10 minutes e.g. on a bus or long car journey or in class, I get a deep dull ache that is within my whole joint, and a hot seering sharp pain that goes through my patella and into my thigh. I've been referred to an x-ray clinic who's doctor has said she can't really see anything on the x ray. BUT my knee is painful, and it's obviously mishapen with a weird hard loose piece.. this is NOT RIGHT, what do I do? What do you think is wrong?
