Is One Source Talent a scam?
-
So I got this email from someone named "Maggie Lee" saying that she wants to meet with me this Thursday or this Saturday. Are they a scam? I've heard all these people saying that they are and all you do is waste your money but other people have said that they try and get you into real acting agencies. Is that true? And should I go? And if they're a scam then how DO you get into acting agencies? I've sent in resumes and head shots to all these different agencies and I haven't heard back. How long will it take?! Please help.

Answer:
It kind of is a scam. I applied for a role on a tv show and a movie and the next day I got a call from them asking me to come in the next week and I did. They asked me a few questions like "Why should we work with you, why you want to act?" etc. They ask you to come in one more time for an interview, they ask you more questions, and then they're gonna try to test you to see how you react if you get rejected by them and give you advice on how to take good or bad news. If they like you then they'll accept you either way. Then they'll tell you the one time fee of $495 and $40 monthly subscription you have to pay. I told them I didn't have that kind of money and that I'll come back later when I do but actually, in my head I was like "**** YOU". After those interviews I felt like my dreams of acting were never going to come true if I keep meeting assholes like these guys. They're not con artists but they don't really consider themselves an agency. They still help you though but they'll make you pay first. I highly recommend that you don't go to your interview at OST because it is a WASTE of time. Look somewhere else See, in actuality when you are looking for work in acting and modeling, the agencies help you land a job in whatever sort of field you're trying to get into. You don't pay them before, you pay them after you finish the job you were given. If they want you to pay up front then yes they are a scam. If you are looking for agencies, look for an agency that ACTUALLY considers themselves an agency. Good luck with your search

Well.. for now no one knows how long this will take because, sometimes people like this don't ever reply because they have like 100 other resumes to go through and it depends whether your worthy enough... And it could be more than likely a scam? If i were you id go on the internet5 and research this industry and if reviews saying its a scam THEN its a scam BUT if reviews saying its not a scam then its NOT a scam.. Its pretty straight forward but still you have to take caution for your own safety, you know it all "depends" .. Remember* REPLY!
