How do i wire in a new stereo? 94 mustang gt?

So i got a stereo for my birthday and i went to walmart to get the wireing kit. it said i have the right kit 1970 -2000 mustang. i brought it home set it up and the stereo turned on but the speakers didnt. in The box the wiring came in there were two differant parts. why is that? im so confused. only one piece of the wiring kit fits my car plz help

because you must have a factory amplifier some were.the speakers are hooked to this.find the remote turn on wire in the new head units wiring harness and find the factory amps remote turn on wire and join them.the second plug you say is there on the wiring kit is for speakers that are wired back to the head unit.one plug is your power supply the second is for speakers when there wired strait to your head unit.this is how im thinking you have a factory amplifier running your speakers.
