Where do I get an Oyster Card from?

Should I buy the London Pass with Travelcard for 3 days and get an Oyster card for the rest 2 days?

  • I am traveling with a friend in London for 5 days. We want to do some sightseeing, so we thought we would get a London pass: http://www.londonpass.com/?aid=34&gclid=CKqz1KLkk68CFULN3wodDg2wyA And we are thinking about getting the 3 day pass with Travelcard included. But we still want to travel for the remaining days with the tube, so I was wondering if I should get the London pass with a travel card and buy an Oyster card for the two other days or if I should buy the London pass without a Travelcard included and get an Oyster card for the whole time we are there. What do you think Londoners and non-Londoners?

Unless you plan on going to nearly All the Attractions on the Pass ( museums are usually Free) the London Pass is not worth it ( and most attractions are in zone 1 &2 so will won't need the other zones unless you plan on going to them) you can just get a oyster card- check the prices of the attractions you are sure to visit and decide if the London Pass is worth it Here are some travelers opinions http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g186338-i17-k583072-The_London_Pass_worth_it_or_scam-London_England.html http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g186338-i17-k2691621-London_Pass_vs_Oyster_card-London_England.html

The London Pass is a rip-off, most museums are free and to make the London Pass pay you cannot spend very long at each attraction. It would usually work out cheaper to pay for those attractions that you need to pay for e.g Westminster Abbey, and use an Oyster Card. As most attractions are in zones 1&2 you don't need an all zones travelcard. An Oyster wil work out cheaper, if you travel after 9.30 a.m. the cap is also lower (saving you even more money). The biggest museums - The British Museum, the Natural History and Science Museums are all free. The Biggest Galleries - The National Gallery, Tate Britain and Tate Modern are free. You can have an amazing day out in London without paying for any attractions.
