How do I get my friends from saying that I wear too much makeup?

  • I'm 13 and I love wearing and putting on makeup. I'm kind of on the fence of wearing too much but I make sure not to go overboard because I don't want to be a cake face. I will never stop wearing makeup, but my friends always make little comments about how I wear too much. I really want it to stop. I don't think anyone in my grade wears as much as me, but still I sware I don't look like a clown. My friends don't really know how to put on makeup as well as I do so they either don't wear any at all, or only a little. I can do my makeup really well so that's why my makeup is complex, I guess that's the word for it. By that I do a little extra things that many people can't do with their makeup or whatever. My point is, I want my friends to stop making comments but I don't want to wear less makeup either. By the way if your going to make a comment like "If they say you wear to much you probably do." than here's what I'm going to say: My mom is brutally honest and she would never lie about how I look. She's even forced me to change my makeup, clothes or hair if she doesn't like it. I asked her if I was wearing too much and she didn't think so at all! She said my makeup is looking amazing for once. Okay I'm going to stop running my mouth now. Thanks in advance!

    does it look natural? that might be the only issue .. first you fix yourself before confronting your friends. and I know you mentioned that your mothers okay with it and you like makeup but think about it. do you have really bad acne? if you do, it's fine to wea foundation. if you don't, just stick to concealer to cover up the small problems. if you really insist on coverage, use a tinted moisturizer :) and for eye makeup. please don't tell me you wear a smokey look everyday .. stick to neutrals :) and I'm not gonna lecture you about being too young cause I'm 15 and I know 7 year olds that wear makeup. ANYWAYS :P enough with that. now about your friends. you seriously need to confront them and tell them they need to stop. if they don't listen, maybe consider they're not the best friends you could have? I'm not saying to ditch them or anything .. just think about it :) btw, I know you said you don't wanna wear less makeup, but it's giving the same look, just a little less harsh on you :) hope I helped :D

I know how you feel. Nobody wears makeup at my school partially because only foundation is allowed (for coverage). Only the really b*tchy girls wear mascara/eyeliner.. which is all they know how to do. I love wearing makeup everyday because it's like my barrier.. I can't live without it, covers my acne scars which I thank the school for allowing foundation! I've had some people ask me 'are you wearing makeup?' and saying that they can tell which leaves me on the spot embaressed as I'm the only one wearing it. I haven't really done anything to stop it.. I've tried wearing less foundation and blending quite well. But I guess you just have to wait until your friends start to wear makeup .. sorry I can't really help :(
