Anyone has a late period because of progesterone?

Bleeding while on Progesterone?

  • My hubby and I are ttc our 2nd child and my doctor put me on progesterone to stop my very heavy and long lasting periods (this last one lasted 2 months straight!). She told me to take it for 21 days and it should stop the period within the first 7 days (which it did) and then once I run out to wait for a "natural" period to start and then take clomid (which I've done before with my 1st child) and go on ttc from there with temp charting, ect. I started the progesterone (Provera) on march 21st so I've been on it for 12 days and it did stop my bleeding a few days after starting it, but as of yesterday, i started bleeding again. at first it was just a little spotting and I thought that it was normal but then today it got heavier (heavy enough to use overnight pads) and I'm cramping. I'm not sure if this is normal for someone on progesterone or if it warrants me calling my doctor again... or if i should just continue taking the progesterone for a few more days and see what happens. Anyone have any ideas or similar experience? Thanks!

I was on Progesterone too but did not have an experience like yours. I would keep taking the progesterone. Supposed to do wonders for TTC!
