How do I kill flea EGGS specifically in my home?

Baby Safe flea spray for the home?

  • I have an indoor cat, he never goes outside, but somehow contracted fleas in this apartment. I dose him with front-line flea/tick/lice control as often as directions say, I clean him with shampoo that kills adult fleas, flea eggs, and flea larvae, by the directions every 30 days, but the fleas keep coming back or don't go away at all. I have an infant in the house and I need to know if there are any type of flea bombs/sprays/treatments that I can use and wont effect my child in any way shape/form, the last thing I would ever want is for my child to be bitten, on the other hand fleas love me for some reason and they attack me like crazy. any info would be much appreciated

The best and safest flea products are available from vets - with a baby in the house I'd be *very* hesitant to use anything you get from a petstore or Walmart. And it may be that the fleas have built up a resistance to the Frontline. Switching to a product like Advantage (or one from the vet) may make a big difference. Some non toxic things you can do in the meantime - get a flea collar, but not for your cat! Put a piece of it in your vacuum cleaner bag, and thoroughly vacuum your house floors, drapes and furniture. Do this daily - it *will* help and is of course totally harmless to you and the baby - but be sure to store the left over piece of flea collar in the bag, and of course wash you hands thoroughly after handling it (they are really quite toxic). Keeping up with the vacuuming for a week may do the trick, eliminating the need for a flea bomb - or it may not. But it's sure worth a try. Fleas can come in to your house though from the other apartments, or on our shoes and clothes, unfortunately.

Most bug bombs are ok. You read the directions on the bottle. Get baby in car set them off and go for a drive. Come back open windows quickly and go shopping or something. Steam cleaning the carpet is good too. Putting garlic in your cats food will make the fleas not want to bite the cat. If that fails call a pro bug killer
