How to use dial up in ubuntu 10.4?

Should I use Ubuntu or Windows 7?

  • I have Windows 7 Professional - it's great. I just got Ubuntu 11.0 and want to know if I should install it and use it, rather than Windows 7. Which one should I use and why? I like Ubuntu a lot, being open source and really awesome. I'm a techy person and like Google Chrome and so on... Windows 7 is great - just would like to know if I should use Ubuntu instead?

I would suggest you try it out a bit via the live version or by installing it in a virtual machine. I don't suggest completely switching cold turky, and would reccomend you give youself six months to find out if there are any must-have-windows tasks that you do.

There's no need to rush into wiping Windows 7 from your drive completely. Consider dual-booting or using a virtual machine while you get more comfortable with Linux. Don't forget there is more to Linux than just Ubuntu; if you're curious enough to consider ditching Windows completely, eventually you'll want to look at Fedora, or OpenSUSE, or Mint, or even Arch. Having Windows available *just in case* will go a long way to easing your frustration when you run into problems. (And you will, we all do)

Ubuntu is GNU/Linux for people that can't use GNU/Linux. I don't really like Ubuntu, personally, I would use another distribution. There is nothing to like about Google Chrome, unless you dislike your privacy.

YOU CAN USE BOTH BY PUTTING ON DUAL BOOT . HAVE BOTH BUT WINDOWS 7 MUCH BETTER AND HAS NO BUGS
