Do you have to have a data plan if you get an iphone?

If i buy this iphone would i have to get a data plan (picture)?

  • I'm trying to get an iphone where i do not have to get a data plan. I've been searching everywhere about it and every thing has said something different, like some people say that you have to get a data plan whether it's jailbroken/unlocked or not. Some people say that you don't have to if it's jailbroken and unlocked. I'm not a very techy person as far as phones go, so i'll give the link and if yall could tell me if i would have to or not, that'd be great!     You obviously do. Because it uses a lot of data/bandwidth for Internet usage, apps, info that needs to update the programs, and etc. If you still want to get it, you can, but make sure you're only using it for listening to music,texting and calling and nothing like internet, apps that uses the internet/bandwidth and all that.
