How to fix an iPod touch that continuously crashes?

How do I fix my iPod touch lock screen?

  • So my iPod touch has many problems (it's a 3rd gen) including low battery life, frequent crashes, and slight water damage. Also, I have no warranty and I don't plan on buying one. But anyways, on with the lock button. So it doesn't work at all. It's like jammed or something. It's actually been getting jammed constantly but very temporarily (before and after the water damage), but now it seems to be permanently stuck and no matter how hard I press, it won't lock. Don't suggest taking it to the Apple store, or getting a ridiculous app. Just tell me how I can physically fix the lock button myself without opening the iPod. Link me to an article or something. Copy and paste something. Share with me your personal experiences with your iPod touch or something. I just need it fixed. Oh and don't suggest I buy a new one.
