How to beta test?

How can I get my girlfriend to beta test the game I'm making and run it though a debugger?

  • Okay here is the thing. I haven't had a girlfriend in about 10 years, so I'm kinda new at this. The way it seems to go, is that I have to do everything she says; however, I feel like I should expect something in return. I want to teach her how to code in C++, AND the needed data structures (I use a stack for my random map generator, and a heap for my combat system) then have her TELL ME what the problems are in my game (I'm fine with fixing them on my own). I go to class full time, and I also have a part time job; I need help in finishing my game! Also, she is opposed to learning calculus, how can I force her to let me teach her calculus 1-3 so she can beta test this app I want to make that solves differential (yes, and partial differential) equations on the phone? The game I'm making is a roguelike. It uses fractal math to generate the maps, so I'd have to teach her that as well. SHE SHOULD DO THIS FOR ME, i WASTED 2 HOURS OF MY LIFE WATCHING THE ******* NOTEBOOK AND I DO MOST OF THE WORK AROUND THE HOUSE! I WASH DISHES!

How many girls are in your company class's, I'm guessing very few. If you make her do something that will make her feel stupid ie hard math she's not going to like it very much. The notebook might be boring but it's not the same as taking a class. Find some one else to help with your app

I don't think you can make her do something so difficult as this, I understand where you're coming from, but you shouldn't have to do all the work in the relationship. Look, just sit down, have a calm rational discussion with her and let her know all of your problems and maybe you guys can come up with a good compromise on a lot of different issues, not just the game. And as to the coding and such, she might be willing to test play it....but as far as debugging and code writing I doubt it.
