Is it time to get serious about self defence?

  • Should we all now have to consider the following behaviours . My grandson will not be another casualty of Florida type laws being enacted in many states. If my grandson is out lawfully and discovers some person is following/tailing him (as Zimmerman himself admits to doing) to the point of my grandson fearing for his life,he should "stand his ground" as a man (Like in an old "B" western)and not retreat ,take out his concealed gun and shoot the threat .As in the Zimmerman case,the word of the shooter / killer that they were acting in self defence is enough for our legal system to lay no charges and with no witnesses ,who cares, obviously not the law. Before long the situation will escalate and literally thousands will be gunned down in self defence across the land .Some could even use this law to get back at enemies,minorities,hoody wearers etc etc with no consequences at all . We as a people are a disgrace to have allowed this escalation Our horrid gun culture,violence culture stands in stark opposition to the CHRISTIAN (religious) values and morals we hypocrites wear on our sleeves I suspect that all of this will disappear when the first white Floridian is killed by a minority person claiming self defence . @Peace "Following/tailing" is not a threat. There is more gun violence in Chicago then in Florida...so why are you picking on Florida? I think what you are REALLY doing is letting all of the left claims about what happened in Florida shape your opinions, rather than actually research the issue and make an informed decision for yourself. If you want to be a sheeple, then by all means you are doing a great job. But don't expect rational people to agree.

Self defense is a right. That's just the way it is. But we don't know the whole story yet. That's why we investigate things like what you speak of. Yeah. Anyone can cry, "Self defense" but that isn't always the case. We know that. But removing the ability for people to defend themselves would result in a much worse situation. If the American Government ever tries to remove guns, it would result in chaos. Militias would rise all over the country, and it would probably lead to the end of our government as we know it. Civil War + Bad Economy don't exactly go so well together. It would be similar to what happened in Egypt.
