What should i do for jobs once I get out the navy?

What jobs can I get in the U.S. Navy if I am married to a resident, not a citizen?

  • I am desperately wanting to join the Navy. I have been married to a non-citizen for 4 years and have one child. My spouse will be a legal U.S. resident within the month (most likely). I am graduating with my B.A. in Liberal Studies with concentrations in Education and Communications in a few months, scored a 97 on my ASVAB, and am 25 years old until September of this year. I was wanting to be a nuke more than anything but even with an age waiver I am still not able to do it because of the fact that my spouse is not a citizen (devastating news). I am just wondering what I could possibly do for the Navy with my age and my spouse issues (btw, my spouse will be a citizen in two years, I will be 27-28 yrs old then). Should I just enlist in a field that requires minimum security clearance? Am I able to enlist at all? After my spouse becomes a citizen can I switch job fields to something more advanced? Will I be too old by then? I want to be something BIG in life and do something BIG. Any advice that sheds light on my situation is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    So long as YOU are a citizen then you can go out for what ever job you are qualified to go for. I am married to a US navy guy and him marrying me did not impact HIS security clearance in the slightest.............your wife will undergo a very long in depth back ground check by the FBI while she gets her green card, so pretty sure if there is anything wrong in her back ground it will come out at that point................. My son also holds a very high clearance with the USAF and I am still only a green card holder, so long as you let them know it should NOT be an issue..........he was also offered the nuke programme in the US Navy but decided to go for the USAF instead. You will be fine.

Lets see now... You married an illegal... He will not be able to obtain a Permanent Green Card... If they issue him a Green Card it will be a Temp Marriage Card... if the Marriage lasts two years he may get a Permanent Green Card... (Of course he must be in his Country of Origin while it is Processed...) What normally happens once they receive that card... Within two months a Divorce is filed by them... Why do you think he Married you ??? My question is...since you DO NOT have a Job, you do not even meet the Basic Rules of a Marriage Visa... (3 X the Poverty Line X 5 years...) You are a HIGH Risk Security Leak... and have already Broken the Law...
