What are the demographics of Zimmerman's gated community? Have other "watchdogs" had similar situations?
-
Pretty straight-forward questions. What are the experiences of the other neighborhood residents "on watch," and what are the demographics (racial/age/religious, etc.) for the gated community? Being gated, how does one enter and roam the development in a "hoodie" without being approved by the security guard (if there IS one) at the front gate? As you can see - MUCH MORE information is needed before ANYONE starts to point fingers. Let's keep racism out of this for now, until things can be proven otherwise.

Answer:
A black kid in a hoody, walking through a white, gated, often robbed, neighborhood IS suspicious. I'm not saying he's guilty because he does it, but he is suspicious. Of course, this time he might just be walking home.....who knows? An old guy in a trench coat, who is constantly watching the junior high girls practice cheer leading, from his van, is also suspicious. Someone will ask him what he is doing. This time he just might be one of the girl's grandpa.....who knows? These are the facts of life based on past history. Everyone acts like Zimmerman had no reason to question Martin.

That's backwards reasoning, because demographics, or previous experiences won't change the fundamental facts. It's very simple, Trayvon was walking home, he was black, wore a hoodie, and had Skittles, and an Iced Tea out in the open, give me any scenario where that is 'suspicious' where you don't stereotype him. You can't, because there was NOTHING going on, he was walking home, until Zimmerman started stalking him.
