How do I make a magnetic locket?

Custom Jewelry designer to make locket?

  • I'm looking for a custom jewelry designer--preferably in the NYC area. I'm having a lot of trouble finding someone who will make a custom locket design. For some reason, no one will do it. I mean, it's just a locket after all. Am I misunderstanding something about the jewelry industry or is it just really hard to find a custom jeweler? Any good referrals? Thank you.

I design and make jewelry... but not like you are looking for. But I did meet someone at the Norwalk (CT) Oyster Festival last fall. They were one of the many vendors there. I know they design and make pieces, but I don't know if they do commission type pieces. I purchased a necklace made up of gems and some other metal pieces from them. Really beautiful work. He was a big guy who did a lot of very delicate work with those big hands. I was amazed. If they do commission, this might be just what you are looking for. They are in Manhattan. Luckily, I found their card. Atlantis Jewelry 38 West 48th Suite 203-B NY, NY 10036 212-869-8192 email: [email protected] http://www.jewelsbyatlantis.com/ Good Luck! Hopefully this isn't a place you already looked into and they might be able to help you. I really enjoyed talking to them. Very nice people. If they can't help you, I bet they can tell you who can. (I would love to know if you are successful. I know you have your Y!A preference set to not allow email. In case you didn't know, when people click on the link in our Y!A profiles to email someone, no one ever sees any email address, whether sending, receiving or replying to an email sent through Yahoo! There are lots of them. But they would have to charge a great deal of money, several thousand dollars, to make one piece and that's probably why they're not interested.
