How can I get rid of my acne?

  • I am fifteen years old, and I've had acne since I was twelve. For the first two years, my acne was fine, I would just get a pimple here and there and it would go away in two or three days. This acne farm, however, appeared on my forehead and the top of my nose around November of 2011. I'm currently in my freshman year, and it's surprisingly a lot easier than I anticipated it would be. The only stressful part of the year was when I took honors geometry last semester. At the time, I drank a lot of dr.pepper, I didn't work out, I wore makeup ALL of the time, and I did not wash my face except for when I took showers. Now, five months later, I have been taking a lot more care of myself. My mom noticed my acne farm so in December we started buying face stuff. Since then, I have cut down on the soda A LOT (I mainly drink water now, and when I do have soda, I don't drink more than just a few sips because that's all my mom will allow :P), I have absolutely no stress because this semester is mainly electives and I don't get any homework whatsoever. I don't have boyfriend stress anymore (last semester I was dating a total douche, which could have contributed to the stress, but soon after my acne farm popped up noticeably I started dating my current boyfriend and he never gives me stress because he's so much better, but I won't go into detail), I have been exercising because now I have gym and I want to do better and better each time we do the mile/fitness test, I am on a normal sleep schedule, I eat mainly healthy food (although I do have the occasional treat because I feel like I deserve it sometimes :P ), I've totally stopped wearing makeup, and most of all, I have been washing my face EVERYDAY, TWICE A DAY. Sure, it has cleared up some, but it refuses to go away. My mom won't let me go on birth control for the acne because of all the risks that birth control has, so I won't even try. What else can I do to get rid of it? What do I do if it scars?

Ok so i have the exact same problem, i have moderate acne.. And im 14.. It literally drived me up the wall i had to wear so much foundation on my face because i was that depressed to go out of the house. And i literally tried every face wash product in the universe. So, my sister is a nurse and she gave me a few things tht she thought could help, she gave me this really weak antibiotic called minocycline (akamin 50) and it has absolutely no side effects, i take it 2 time daily and im only on my 1st month of it and my acne has cleared up stupendously, im not even kidding i hardly wear makeup anymore.. I understand ur mum because mine is the same, she didnt want to put me on birth control, the 2nd thing tht my sister gave me is cetaphil, its a really good dermatologist approved cleanser, gets rid of oil without drying the skin out and also the last thing is a spot treatment called benzac cream, its got benzoyl peroxide and really dries out the zits, and i have to say ive been doing this for only a month and my skin has cleared up soooo much its unbelievable. You really have to try it. Good luck!!
