Why do my knees hurt?

Why do my knees hurt after squats?

  • Once for week, for about 8 weeks or more, I've been doing umm...I think they're called Bulgarian Split Squat. When I do them, I don't bend my knees at more than a 90-95 degree angle. I also don't lock my knees when I get to the top. I'm pretty sure this is good form, so why did my knees hurt after I did them? Do I need to do Hamstring curls too? I hear if your Quads are bigger than your Hams, you can have knee problems. Could it also be that I didn't warm up first? I did about 7-10 minutes on my exercise before my workout. I thought that was good enough to warm up. I had that feeling that if I kept going, I would start sweating.
