Well it sounds like you want to go to Lancaster, and they are both still in England so you will still have access to your family. If you go away, you wont need a job for a while with student loans, matinance grants etc. Plus is you already have a job so you have experance, thats what they look for these days, so it wont be hard to find a new one. I wish I could go to England and live on my own, it would be a get great experance. But the fees havnt went up in N.Ireland yet, so I'm getting the same course for almost £6000 cheaper, but yea go for the better uni, jobs will look for the better uni too. I hope that helped.

criminology isn't all that useful of a degree. I would know, I have met a graduate that has a first class degree in it and struggles to get even a probation officer job. Law is a good degree, there are countless lawyers these days, however I wouldn't go rely on any firm to take you under their wing once you get out of uni, I would plan on going solo and simply keeping well visible with lots of advertising (you will eventually not need much advertising due to word of mouth). Obviously "how to go solo" will be your greatest focus while you are at uni. If I was you I would go to sussex, one thing in uni you will quickly realize is there is no one to push you to do well, it will be only your own desire to succeed that pushes you to do well.
