What's Better a BA Honours Degree In Childhood Studies or Early Years Foundation Degree?

  • I am student who is leaving school this year, and i am going onto college in September to do Childcare Level 3 and after that i would like to go to University to do a childcare course. But there is two either BA Honours Degree in Childhood Studies or Early Years Foundation Degree, and i was just asking -What one is better? -Do you have to be a certain age to do the BA Honours Degree? -Which one will be better and get me a more well paid job? (sorry if the questions sound stupid) Thanks :)

    The BA degree is a higher qualification than the foundation degree. However, you will need A levels/Access to begin the BA degree. The foundation degree allows people with Childcare qualifications to progress in the Early Years sector. So for you, the Foundation degree will probably be the best option. Once you have completed the Foundation degree you can progress and finish the BA degree, it just might take a bit longer this way, but at the end of the day you will get the qualification. As for age, you will probably be 18+ as that's when most finish A-Levels/other qualifications.
