What are some good organizations to study abroad?

About the choice of languages I study to work in the international organizations?

  • I am not a native English speaker. In the future, if I have a chance, I want to work in the international organizations like the United Nations. I know that first of all, I may study English hard so that I can work using English, but I must choose second language at university from the next term. I wanted to study German just because I have interest in German culture or buildings, but of course I know German is not a official language in the United Nations. To be honest, there are a few other languages I want to study, but most of them are not official languages, Italy, Greek and Arabic. Should I choose an official language, or choosing a language I don't have interest in is silly? If I used strange English, I am sorry.

Fachkräfte aus allen Ländern, die im Ausland arbeiten möchten, sprechen heute Englisch als Fremdsprache. Die Kenntnis der deutschen Sprache ist daher eine zusätzliche Qualifikation. In Deutschland werden heute bereits 50 000 Ingenieure gesucht.

I guess it depends on what organization you want to work for (if it'll have you...) and what its needs are. Italian and greek aren't widely used internationally, Arabic is (if you have the right dialect). do realise that you can only be a translator/interpreter working from a foreign language to your native one. I recommend learning any language you like or at least are motivated to learn. I also recommend not just studying "hard". Watching movies with subtitles and reading nice books is more efficient. Knowing Esperanto (the easiest language by far) helps learn other languages faster
