Xbox connection problems?

Xbox connection problems?

  • I had my xbox in the basement and it had been working fine, no lag in online games. I took it upstairs one morning and played it online, and it was back downstairs by the afternoon. Now it is lagging, even though the connection is the same and in the same spot. My wireless internet is on the second floor and my xbox in the basement. I cant really move either of them. Anyone else had this problem? This problem is not only ingame, but at the panel of Xbox Home where my friends section is. I tried all thr xbox solutions- what have you tried and what is best? Where should my xbox or wireless connection be?

  • Answer:

Never use a wireless connection for any sort of gaming. It makes the connection for yourself crap and annoys everybody you play with. I would recommend cording it and making sure your NAT is Open. If your panels are lagging without any sort of internet connection then it is your xbox which has the problem and you might want to send it in to microsoft. Alternately it could simply be xbox servers as they get overloaded sometimes and cause mass lag across the network.

I had this problem a lot now turn off your modem for a minute then your router and then turn your modem back on wait until it connects to the Internet then turn your router back on then connect your Xbox to your router again it always worked for me and if that's not it sometimes if you have multiple connections running to one router it can slow it down try shutting other computers off or iPods that are connected and it also could be your parents didn't pay the bill and your Internet connection got slowed down that's happened to me lol Goodluck these ate basically the only things that would slow down your connection randomly Goodluck

I'd put my wireless connection in a big opened room and/or by a window. And get a different internet company if the one your using isn't being sufficient.
