What do I have to do to become a video game tester?

What is the ABSOLUTE minimum age I could become a video game tester at?

  • I'm 13. I'm also in 7th grade. 40% of my life is school. 50% of my life is video games. 10% is sleep (xD). I love video games so much (and I'm not antisocial. or fat.). But earlier today, it hit me: "HOLY SH*T what if I became a video game tester and made a few bucks doing what I love?" I understand there's some "minor labor" laws in place, so I of course gotta ask...What's the lowest age I could sign up to be a video game tester at?

    16 or 18 and its not that great a job as it sounds like you wil have to play games including games you dont liek to death record everything make a note of everything and do the same thing over and over and over again till your sick off it

I love video games but testing them is frustrating and could make you hate them. It's repetitive, you don't get to play the parts of he game you like and you spend lots and lots of time filling out forms. You also don't make very much money at all. Also you don't get to play the game through. You just play small parts of it over and over and over and over and over. Checking to make sure that princess peach's dress stays the right color through all the 16 different jumping moves in all 36 differnt background locations, and filling out a 2 page form every time you find an anomoly is enough to make you want to trade your computer for connect 4. Finally, paid test positions are rare, and usually do not go to minors except the unpaid type. Did some testing at a game lab.

14 w/ school permit Is the legal age to work In most states (minor laws still apply) Although 16+ If you want to have a good chance of finding a job like video game testing.
