Christians who don't celebrate Halloween:Aren't you being hypocritical...?
-
when you celebrate other holidays? Some of you don't celebrate Halloween because you know the roots of it(that its a festival dedicated to worshipping the dead)... Well every single holiday has pagan roots. Including Easter...Many of you know this but try to justify it by saying that it is now viewed as a celebration for Jesus' resurrection..But if you think about Halloween...Most people who celebrate it now..Only view it as a time to dress up and eat candy...But does that justify the celebration of Halloween..? I'm sure some of you will say no..But if this is the case then why do you celebrate other pagan holidays just because you want to say its for something else.. You claim to use these holidays to bring praise to God..But when the early Israelites gave sacrifices to God they had to be flawless and they had to meet God's guidelines otherwise they weren't acceptable to God....I mean I'm sure that some of these people had somewhat good intentions but when you give something to God it has to be completely clean right? If there was a demon celebration back then would God accept it just because you dedicated it to him..? Weren't all those people killed because they worshipped a golden calf..They could have used that to "glorify" God..But it was for their own selfish purposes..Because they wanted to celebrate something..Isn't it the same today...? If there was an idol of Ba'al....And you bowed down to it..But you said that you were bowing down to it to worship your God...Do you think he would accept it just cuz u changed the name? I mean isn't justifying these holidays hypocritical..?

It's double-y hypocritical, because it started out as a day of the dead, and people dress up as demons and witches and ghouls to try to scare them away. Rene..... It has EVERYTHING to do with paganism. You might want to question your religion, and google: "Yule" and "Zeus". You have a lot to learn if you don't think it has anything to do with paganism.

What is more important: the celebration of a holiday or loving others and showing them the love of God for them that they may see Him and believe? Isn't it acceptable to worship God on Easter Sunday because of His love in dying for us, being buried in the tomb, and rising on the third day? Would God not want us to worship Him at Christmas time because He came to earth to show us the way to heaven and to die for us? In what way is dressing up in costumes and going around begging for candy worshipping God? When Christmas and Easter are celebrated, they are celebrated in remembrance of the great things God has done for us; what does this have to do with the Israelites sacrifices being clean? There are no idols bowed down to at either holiday by true Christians; I do not see the connection for your argument here.

Sorry, but I don't celebrate any pagan holiday including Halloween and Easter. Christmas is the celebration of Christ's birth. Christ has NOTHING to do with paganism.
