How To Use Rosetta Stone On Ipad?

Should I use Rosetta Stone to learn a new language?

  • I have been thinking about buying Rosetta Stone for Mandarin, the Level 1,2,3,4,5 for $399 for business purposes later in life. I am also thinking about Spanish. 1) Have you used Rosetta Stone's products, and will they help me speak the language fluently or at least efficiently? 2) What language would be the most practical to learn for business purposes? I think Mandarin and possibly Spanish.

  • Answer:

In the US in business, Mandarin is not needed. If you do work with China, you'll usually be dealing with people who speak English. It's pretty rare for someone from a US-based business to need to speak Mandarin. Not saying it can't happen, but it's not very common. Far more useful in US based businesses is Spanish. And it is far, far, far easier to become fluent in Spanish than in Mandarin. I've found that the Rosetta Stone products do help, but you'll need more. I've found that many people who use Rosetta Stone know words, but really can't speak. They can't form effective sentences. Pimsleur works more quickly for that. Rosetta has more vocab - but Pimsleur has more context.
