What do I do if my high school doesn't offer any AP courses?

Weighted and Unweighted GPA in High School?

  • So i talked to my counselor and he said that my high school doesnt do weighted gpa. Just a straight up regular gpa. Well this sucks for my cause im taking the most challenging classes my school has to offer. Therefore, i might not preform as good as some other kid but he/she is taking regular classes. Also, does it change how prestigious universities look at my application or not? Will they still see im taking like 4 AP classes a year whereas other kids arent. Even though im only like top 5%, not 2% because im taking challenging courses. Thanks!

  • Answer:

No, it won't change how colleges look at your application. If anything, they'll like that you're taking rigorous classes. Anyway, most schools ask for your unweighted GPA when you're applying.
