Do you make music videos on youtube?

Want to Buy a Canon 600D to make Music videos for youtube ,wondering if its the right model for my purpose?

  • Answer:

The best image quality is going to come from a true video camera with 3-CCD's ALL the dSLR cameras have only one sensor and those are limited due to CMOS overheating during long "takes" You are also going to have to buy some accessories to make a 600D/T3i perform at all well when it comes to recording the sound, keeping focus, following focus and keeping the camera from giggling around http://mauromedia.com/cameras/dslr-shoulder-mount-mauromedia-tech/ * Shoulder mount or tripod with fluid head * External stereo recording device like the Zoom H4n Handy Recorder Kit * High quality microphones: Short Shotgun Condenser Microphone and wireless lavaliere microphone * Mini Wireless Receiver Bracket * Optical viewfinder like the Z-Finder Pro 3x or an external monitor. You add up all those accessories and soon your total cost of the equipment needed to shoot video has brought you up to the cost of a real video camera which has ALL the necessary features like genlock, built-in SMPTE time code, independent TC-IN/TC-OUT terminals, composite video, analog component and four audio XLR inputs. And don't forget can record at 10-bit, 4:2:2 master-quality video. You may want to either rethink your plan or start saving your pennies for a real video camera to shoot video.

The image quality is great for the price....although if you're willing to pay $4000 for a good 3-CCD camcorder I would go with what fhotoace says. If you want to spend under $4000 get your 600D with accessories...like a fluid-head tripod, external mic, a steady cam or some kind of rig. Also look into what lens you would like...the 18-55mm kit lens is ok, but I'm pretty sure somebody like Mike Tompkin would use Canon's "L" lens which is their premium line of lens. They are very expensive but deliver much better quality. Also remember...you can have a great kit, but if you suck at making videos...your videos won't look any better than a normal youtuber. Look at VideoMaker's tutorial for making and editing music videos as well as really observe other people music videos. That will also help you a lot.
