How many people agree that Arne Jacobsen designs are ugly?

I find his work to be very modern and out of the box. Many people want to be considered to be exactly that. Filling their home with this modern look surrounds them with what they want to present to guests and friends, and it IS classic. In a certain way, yes, they are a little ugly, but modern art isn't all flowers and lace. Arne Jacobsen had an open mind to art.

Absolutely not if you look at the beauty behind it. Arne Jacobsen looks to be inspired by the Modernist movement, his theme looked to point to Bauhaus inspiration. What the Bauhaus was, it was an Art college in Germany, the college focused on collaborating both Artist's and Craftsmen and other Artists in-between to craft Simplified Geometric Furniture. They we're Anti-Aesthetic revolutionists in the art world, and looked mainly for the Form meets function concept. What is the Form meets function concept? It's the act of breaking down a piece of furniture to it's purist and most simplistic form. Let me give you an example... Victorian Furniture, right? Overly-decorated with unnecessary ornaments. The Bauhaus saw Overly decorated furniture as a disgrace to human-kind and impure, it showcased the very insecurities of man. However, these newly created Modernist pieces of furniture focus on the Chair not as a decoration, but it's form only, for god sakes it's used for sitting! This is why it is broken down to simple shapes, thus making it pure and not outlandish on decorations, believe it or not this happened more than 90 years ago. How is this not a bad thing? Now middle-class people could have the luxury of owning furniture, years before furniture was passed down from generation to generation, it was more expensive since it was crafted by hand, The machine aesthetic comes into practice since mass-production has begun.

my friend you cant say that jacobsen designs are ugly.one man food is another mans posion.No work is ugly because it takes time to produce that .if you are the one who own that designs and some one walks up to you and said that it is ugly you will be mad.so a designer must love every work is beautiful,in your own expression ok.from ugly work you will get fine work it just a talent
