Questions about car insurance agents.

What to do with car insurance? questions on buying a car?

  • I've been driving close to a decade. I am under my father's insurance. My sister recently is not anymore. Because we have all been under my father insurance, my sister who has more driving experience is consider a new driver. Because of this her rates are very high. But since both of us have a decade more of driving experience surly this can do something about the rates? What happens if you do not have car insurance or it expired recently? Isn't it required? If you get into accident with other driver and you do not have insurance what happens? Is any cheap car insurance better than none? for 27yr old what is the best insurance for you, if you drive the family's car? If you want to buy your own, used car. How do you go about it?

  • Answer:

Unless you still live with your parents, you should not have been under his policy, but since it happened, and you obviously had no claims (which could have been denied), let's just move on. Yes, if you have been driving for years, and have no tickets or accidents, your driving record will show lower risk and reduce your rates. Unfortunately getting your own insurance at your age raises the risk, so expect higher rates in the beginning until you have established yourself. Yes, taking financial responsibility for anything you damage with your vehicle is required in all states, and most meet that by having insurance. In many states if you allow insurance to lapse they can also revoke your car tags and/or your license to drive. If you drive the family car on an occasional basis, and don't live with your parents, you are covered under the insurance of the vehicle. If you drive it frequently or live at the same address as your father, you should stay on his policy as an additional driver unless and until you actually have your own car. The best way to learn insurance rules and rates for your location is to go and talk with a local independent agent. He can tell you what the rules are, and suggest a company that would be the best at meeting your needs in his data base. How to buy your own car probably should be asked as a separate question for best answers on that subject.

I think to have a best car insurance planned before the expiry of the first is the best way to be secure and safe. But to have the best insurance is the most important, it's not worthy to have any of the cheap insurance, which will not beneficial in case of any unwanted incident. If you have a near about a decked of experience, then why to go for the used one, be confident and have a best new car for you. And event though you want to go for the used one then you will get the best options of various cars at http://www.globalcaradvice.com/

Idk where I live but I'm from TX & I got my car used for $1500 on Craigslist.org its a 97 grand Marquis & it runs perfectly. I know many ppl that have gotten cars from there without a problem & for cheap, check it out. As far as insurance, just get whatever is the state required minimum. Google insurance in your area & call around find the lowest rates, ask friends & family what they use. I'm 19, unlicensed, & a new driver & I pay $100 a month. Not good but not bad either I guess. Just check around, dnt just settle for something u dnt want.

If you want to buy a car make sure you take someone that knows about them. And its always better to have your own insurance. My husband has his under his moms name and he crashed not.only did he have to pay for the damage of his car but of the other too. His total was 6000 and it wasnt even that bad. So unless your listed as a driver you wont be covered . And yes you need insurance if you dont then if the cop stops you he will fine you.

As you have never owned your own car , you have been insured as a named driver and not the main driver of the car.As such your driving experiance is considered to be much much less than that of a standard driver who owns his own car , hence you have paid low insurance rates for the last 10 years. If you now buy a car your insurance will assume you are a new driver with no , no claims bonus , so you will pay the full going rate. Cheap car insurance is only cheap because the cover provided by it is also cheap , ie a very high excess on any claim. To get cheap insurance you need a low powered engine car, and lots of other factors affect the rate like how many miles you drive , is the car garaged , what the car is worth etc etc. To buy a used car , find one you like and pay for it !! How ever be warned a cheap car may have a lot wrong with it and work out expensive , best to buy from someone you know or trust. You can pay for a car to be checked and valued by say the AA etc or a local garage for a fee.

Yes your sister has to start from the start and you too. However you will pay a bit less than someone who's just starting out with a new license at 17. Also you did save a lot of money up to now so that's all on the positive side. Now buy the right car and you'll save a little bit more money. Best car is an saloon or family older car that you have paid cash for it. Then you can choose which physical damage coverages you want, and which deductibles. There's a significant reduction in the cost of insurance for older cars. Then, search around as fees wildly differ. RE: What to do with car insurance? questions on buying a car? I's insurance.
